pretty ill. i liked it a lot. this and children of men i'd def recommend.

    yeah it was so fucking depressing.

    the club scene in tokyo was amazing.

    children of men on the other hand is the biggest film achievement of the last 10 years. it went largely unnoticed by the academy awards. probably too politically volatile for this day and age here in the states. .. especially the guantanamo bay references.

    Still haven't seen Babel.

    I whole heartly agree with CB about Children of Men. Some amazing shit. Usually when a film does hit so close to the mark, ppl take notice. Sadly- not the Academy, which in some ways is as corrupt as our gov't. I can't forgot that long take / car ambush scene... just sick.

    browsie, i'm surprised you said babel was depressing. i think in the end it was pretty positive. like the whole movie there was mad tension and you never knew which way things would go. but the ending scene(s) seemed to point to hope.

    i guess i am thinking about how the middle eastern family got fucked. didn't the shooter's brother die?

    there's just so much damn suffering in the movie.
