Great Schirmers In History: Part 37

Author: Ink-Stained Wretch

From our ongoing series of Great Schirmers In Fact, Fiction, and History -- this episode bringing us one of the best-documented close encounters in UFO lore.

You may view complete details of this curious case, courtesy of The Center For Extraordinary Explanations. Scroll down to the last entry on their page to read the full story of one Officer Herbert Schirmer of the Ashland, Nebraska police force. However, the most salient quotes are as follows:

The being asked, "Would you shoot at a space ship?"

"No, sir," Schirmer said....

They told him that he wouldn't remember most of what
happened during the encounter, and that they would visit him again. "Someday, Watchman, you will see the universe," one being said to him.

Unsurprisingly, our own Marc Jeff Schirmer denies any connection with this bizarre incident. In a statement to this reporter he claims, "To my knowledge there is no direct relation to Officer Herbert Schirmer." However, we recommend that skeptical requirers regard this testimony in light of their own familiarity with the often inexplicable behavior patterns of the aforementioned Marc Jeff Schirmer and then draw their own conclusions, based on the evidence.

I have it all on the DL... just haven't had time to watch- I'm so busy doing nothing. To my knowledge there are no Schirmer aductions in Season 3 of the new Doctor Who, but I'm crossing my tendrils from Season 4!
