    Jesus as MOOBY- the golden calf,yo.!

    * * * *

    I donut see it (TRON) either... maybe it was confused with the Robocop in the upper rightish. What do you think of some of the other stuff- lot's of obsession with Leon aka The Professional. The Shepard Fairey is prob my fav.

    actually the gummo collage piece speaks to my sensibilities. maybe just because it's one of my favorite movies of all time.

    the wizard of oz painting with the weird big head and lightning bolts coming out of its mouth is pretty hot too.

    billboard manipulation needs to happen more.

    no tron and only the slightest mention of any david lynch. bummer.

    a lot of the movies i don't even know...

    "Kevin Smith" and "Art" in the same sentence??? Whoodathunkit?
    Well, pretty much nobody who saw the "art" samples in that video.

    On the real, though, this is actually a pretty lame sampling of the pop-influenced art scene in L.A. If y'all are ever in town, remind me to take you to The Hive downtown -- an art collective which usually has more amazing things in any single one of its seemingly countless closet-sized nooks & crannies than this Moo Askew travesty appears to have in its whole sprawling space. (Which appears to be the former Golden Apple Comix location, Schirminator... diddja happen to catch that?)

    Was that the one on Santa Monica across from the Thai place we took KPFischer (the bat)?

    Wacko and Giant Robot (Stinke!) are the only places I really grooved out at in LA.

    There was that awesome Ecstasy:In and About Altered States show at the LA MOCA we hit. I wish that toured across country, because you all would have dug that shit. Also Ashes and Snow which was amazing- even the temp structure that houses and travels with the show was hot. It was built right on the beach out of shipping containers!

    SEE the next Blog post for info about both of there shows.

    Schirmer-san: racking my brain, trying to figure out what gallery you're talking about... not the Museum of Jurassic Technology?
